Trainer
Jennifer Cheshire, MS, CDP, CADC III makes even a topic like ethics JUICY!!!
Goal of Training
In March of 2011, NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals, published a revised version of the Code of Ethics in a response to the changes in the Substance Use Disorder professional discipline. This is the first major revision in the Code since it was first developed. The goal of this training is to educate participants about the revised NAADAC Code of Ethics content by providing ethical situation examples that illustrate the principles. Participants will have the opportunity to examine ethical issues in their own practice and the trainer will provide support as participants use an ethical decisions model to correlate decision making with the new NAADAC code. Additionally this training will educate participants on the ethical complaint process in the State of Washington by introducing the Washington Department of Health & Washington Administrative Code rules regarding complaints process and sexual misconduct.
Behavioral Objectives
Participants of this training will be able
- To describe the Washington State Department of Health Complaint Process for ethical violations,
- To locate the Washington State Administrative Code as it pertains to sexual misconduct,
- To reference the NAADAC Code of Ethics, and
- To apply the NAADAC Code of Ethics to real-life situations in their occupation.
