What I noticed when I was not consistently free-writing!

Gayathri Ramprasad autographed her book “Guadalupe, Find the light within!” I am!!! Thank you Gayathri for being a much needed light!!!
So the three-page-free-write is coming along! Wake up and write. Right? You know how happiness comes in waves? So does our practices!!! I skipped, put off and pushed back on this new practice. To get back on track I reviewed my first outcomes associated with consistently writing at first light and found that they brought many incredibly useful discoveries!!!
I have less mind clutter –
I noticed my vocabulary and began to replace it with empowering words. For example I moved from I have to, I need to, I should do to I choose to!
I added disappointment, mistakes and failures to my definition of success!
I learned that we have approximately 70,000 thoughts per day – that’s almost half a million thoughts per week…so as David Allen on Ted Talks would say regarding each thought– we accumulate it, stuff it or avoid it.
This brought me to my fugly analogy of a mind dump – where free writing is much like going number two!
And how often do we go number two – daily at the least – right? And if we miss a day how do we feel? Major discomfort, impacted and unhappy!!! Hence why the elderly love talking about their poop!!! Why would this not apply to our almost 500,000 thoughts per week???
The other beautiful discovery is that when I see you and you see me – I see you – more completely! I am fully present and actively listening to you because there is space in my mind for more information!!! In computer language it’s much like defragmentation where our thoughts come together rather than be all over the place hence creating more space – for you!!! And that’s a win-win for both of us! Right???
In summary – I found that choosing to free-write daily is not an option it is a necessity to have a healthy, clearer, more effective sound mind!!!
So I am recommitting to choose to free-write when I first wake thanks to my Sherry who shared an article on the benefits of free-writing 3 pages every morning!!! I have placed it into my daily routine again. I have absolutely noticed the benefits and encourage everyone to give it a try!!!
I had one friend ask – what if I don’t have discoveries like yours. My response took me a little off guard – but now I would say your discoveries will be better than mine because they are yours!!! And I want to hear about them because they may be helpful to all of us!!!
My mama would always say En cada cabeza hay un mundo!!! I get it Nana! In every head there’s one world. So let’s make the best of our world!!! You’ve heard me say it before -My Grace Filled Life After Addiction truly is Grace Filled – when we find a little gold nugget and waste not!!!
